Ich befasse mich momentan verstärkt mit den Anfängen der Nixie-Röhren. Es ist schwer, Informationen zu dieser Technologie zu sammeln, und es wird noch lange dauern, bis ich genug Material für einen kompletten Artikel zusammengetragen habe.

Doch die Artikel über die HB-106 von Haydu Brothers und die GI-10 von National Union wurden schon etwas aufgestockt, einfach mal ansehen!

Ab heute sind wieder viele neue Nixie-Röhren online: NL-50911, B-5971, CD24, CD43, GR10G (Version 2), GR-628, LD-817, NL-924, NL-925, NL-926, NUP102, SZ-8, XN-1, ZM1040, ZM1043S, ZM1049

Die Nixie-Sammlung wurde um eine verbesserte Suchfunktion erweitert, denn da die Sammlung nun mehr als 200 Nixies umfasst wird sie leider auch unübersichtlicher. Mehr Informationen zur Suchfunktion dort.

Ein weiteres Jahr ist vergangen, und www.jb-electronics.de wird ganze vier Jahre alt. Da es seit dem letzten Update schon lange her ist, passiert nun wieder ganz viel auf einmal:

Ich habe mit dem Übersetzen der kompletten Webseite begonnen, deshalb findet sich jetzt oben rechts ein Flaggensymbol, mit Hilfe dessen zwischen Deutsch und Englisch gewechselt werden kann.^* Es wird noch etwas dauern, bis die gesamte Homepage übersetzt sein wird, da sie mittlerweile aus mehr als 200 Unterseiten besteht.

Außerdem besteht die Möglichkeit, auf das Drucklayout zu wechseln, dazu findet sich neben dem Flaggensymbol ein Druckersymbol.^**

Durchweg wurden im Bereich Elektronik alle Schaltpläne verbessert und sollten nun verständlicher sein, ich danke den Besuchern, die mich auf Fehler bzw. Mehrdeutigkeiten hingewiesen haben.

Im Bereich Digitaltechnik existiert eine neue Schaltung zum Thema LCD-Einstieg, die die wichtigsten Grundlagen beim Arbeiten mit LCDs erklärt.

Nach langer Zeit findet sich auch etwas Neues im Bereich Sonstiges: eine Designerleuchte, einfach mal ansehen!

Der Bereich Programmieren ist auch nicht zu kurz gekommen, es existieren nun drei neue Bereiche:

1. Java: Hier werden kleine Programme vorgestellt, die ich selber in Java programmiert habe, zur Zeit sind diese Programme online:

   • HyperCube: ein Programm zum Berechnen der Ecken und Kanten eines Hyperwürfels
   • Primat: ein Programm zur Primfaktorzerlegung

2. ROOT: ROOT ist ein Datenanalyse-Framework, und hier werden nach und nach verschiedene Beispiel-Skripte eingestellt. Zur Zeit sind online:

   • ROOT-Einführung: ein kleiner Artikel, der erklären soll, wie mit ROOT die ersten Skripte ausgeführt werden können.
   • Tannenbaum: dieses kleine Skript motiviert die Gültigkeit des Zentralen Grenzwertsatzes.

3. Maple: Maple ist eine Mathematiksoftware, und hier werden Skripte zu verschiedenen Anwendungsgebieten der Mathematik eingestellt. Momentan sind schon online:

   • Animationen: In Maple ist es möglich, relativ einfach verschiedene Funktionen zu animieren, dieses Skript stellt ein Beispiel dar.
   • Spacecurve: Der Befehl spacecuve erlaubt das Zeichnen von Raumkurven, hier wird der Befehl exemplarisch an einer Funktion erläutert.

Endlich gibt es mal wieder etwas Neues in der Programmierabteilung: Das in freeBASIC geschriebene Programm Quick'n'Easy Contact-List, oder auch kurz QnE, mit dem sich jegliche Kontakte und Kontaktinformationen spielend leicht verwalten lassen.

Wieder ist viel Zeit ins Land gegangen seit dem letzten Update, das Warten hat sich aber gelohnt, es gibt wieder Neues:

Im Bereich Digitaltechnik gibt es unter Microcontroller zwei neue Schaltungen: Die LED-Säule I und die LED-Säule II, zwei PIC-gesteuerte Lauflichter mit blauen 10mm-LEDs.

Und auch in der Nixie-Sammlung gibt es ein paar Neuzugänge: die Registerröhre GR10A, die sehr seltenen und alten englischen Nixies N.I.1, N.I.2 und GR10J/F, sowie ein unglaublich seltenes Labormuster aus dem Labor der Firma Ericsson, die RD.125..

Außerdem wurde auf Hinweis eines aufmerksamen Lesers ein Fehler im Schaltplan der Digitaluhr II entfernt, vielen Dank nochmals an dieser Stelle.

For some time now I have been trying to uncover the mysteries of the Nixie tubes' origins, but it is very hard to collect information on this technology. It will take much more time for me to collect enough data for a little article.

However, the articles on the HB-106 from Haydu Brothers and the GI-10 from National Union have already been extended a little bit, just take a look!

A new circuit has been added to the Electronics section: a simple time switch, check it out!

As of today, new Nixie tube are online in the collection: NL-50911, B-5971, CD24, CD43, GR10G (Version 2), GR-628, LD-817, NL-924, NL-925, NL-926, NUP102, SZ-8, XN-1, ZM1040, ZM1043S, ZM1049

Additionally, the Nixie Tube Collection has been given an improved search function. The collection comprises more then 200 tubes now, and becomes thus more difficult to overview. More information regarding the search function can be found there.

Another year has passed, and www.jb-electronics.de celebrates its fourth anniversary. Admitted, it has been a long time since the last update, so now quite a lot happened:

As you have probably realised, I have started translating the whole website into English, as well. That is why you find a flag symbol in the top right corner of the website that can be used to switch between the languages.^* It will take some more time for me to translate the whole website, as it consists of more than 200 pages.

Additionally, it is possible to select the print layout, that is why next to the flag symbol a little printer is depicted.^**

All schematics in the Electronics section have been redrawn, so they overall should be more understandable, more correct and less ambiguous. A thank you to all the visitors who pointed out difficulties in the schematics.

A new circuit has been added in the section Digital Technology, an Introduction in LCDs, outlining the basic procedures that are needed when working with LC displays.

After a long time the section Miscellaneous has been enriched by a Design Lamp, go take a look!

The section Programming has been expanded by three more categories:

1. Java: Here you can find small programs that I have written in Java, at the moment these programs are online:

   • HyperCube: this program calculates the vertices and edges of an n-dimensional hypercube.
   • Primat: this program can do simple prime factorization.

2. ROOT: ROOT is a data analysis framework, in this section you will find several sample scripts, at the time being:

   • An Introduction to ROOT: a small arcicle on how to get your first ROOT script running.
   • Christmas Tree: this program motivates the validity of the central limit theorem.

3. Maple: Maple is a math software, here you can find scripts that solve different mathematical problems. These scripts are online already:

   • Animations: It is possible to animate different functios in Maple, this script shows an example.
   • Spacecurve: The command spacecurve can be used to draw space curves of random functions, here you can see an example of this command being used.

Finally, something new in the programming section: the freeBASIC program Quick'n'Easy Contact-List (short: QnE), a small comtact manager.

A long time has passed since the last update, but hopefully the waiting has paid off::

In the section Digital Technology you can find new two new circuits: the LED Colon I and the LED Colon II - these are two PIC-controlled running lights with blue 10mm LEDs.

A few new tubes were added to the Nixie Tube Collection: the register tube GR10A, the very rare and old British Nixie tubes N.I.1, N.I.2 and GR10J/F, as well as an incredibly rare lab sample from Ericsson, the RD.125..

Additionally, a mistake in the schematic for the Digital Clock II has been removed, thanks for the feedback.
