B-7031

Die B-7031 (Äquivalent: NL-7031) ist neben der NL-7037 / NL-7038 und der NL-934 die größte amerikanische aufrechte Nixie - streng genommen ist sie mit ihren 51mm Ziffernhöhe sogar etwas größer. Zudem ist sie die einzige mir bekannte amerikanische aufrechte Nixie ohne Anodengitter - eine vergleichbare Röhre ist wohl die englische GR10N.

Die B-7031 besitzt einen recht hohen Sockel, das ist hier erkennbar:

Diese kreuzförmigen Drähte fungieren als Hilfsanode, da ja kein Gitter als Anode zur Verfügung steht, sondern nur die umgebenden Drähte und die metallene Rückwand.

B-7031

The B-7031 (equivalent: NL-7031) is along with the NL-7037 / NL-7038 and the NL-934 the largest American side-view Nixie tube. Actually, the B-7031 has a digit height of 51mm so it would be even larger. Additionally, the B-7031 is the only American side-view Nixie tube I am aware of that does not have an anode mesh. A comparable Nixie tube would be the British GR10N.

The B-7031 has a rather high base, you can see that in the size comparison:

Of course a Nixie tube does not work completely without any anode. You can see the auxiliary anode construction in the following picture:

These cross-shaped wires work as an auxiliary anode. This is necessary, as no anode mesh is used in this Nixie tube. So these wires as well as the solid back of the Nixie tube work as the anode.
